Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to hire a limousine?

Prices vary depending on the type of vehicle, location, time, and duration.

Services are usually charge by the hour, but airport trips or one-way journeys have a flat rate.

We can discuss discount option like package rate example concert packages where you don't use the vehicle while in the concert. we offer package rates. If your guests need to utilize the vehicle during the event there may be extra costs and example is your guest did not have tickets and has to stay in the vehicle, All our package rates have extra time charges available in the event you need more time to enjoy other after concert type stops, or you wish to drop each individual customer at their houses. This in itself is very time consuming and difficult for extremely long vehicles to navigate, We suggest one or two generic drop off locations if budget is your primary concern. Ask us about the availability of a split charter say for dinner we have 3 hour split as example where we use 1.5 hour on each side of your dinner plans. Very cost effective plan. or split with wait time for out of town trips where the charter hourly charge is reduced to a wait time fee instead of full price.

What vehicles do you have available?

We offer a range of options like stretch limos, SUVs, sedans, and party buses to fit different group sizes and events.

How many people can fit in the limo?

Capacity depends on the vehicle type, ranging from small luxury cars (2–3 people) to large party buses (up to 27 passengers).

What’s included in the price?

This usually includes the vehicle, chauffeur, and basic service. Beverages GST and Gratuity are always on top of the charter pricing. Please read the example extra charges listed in the confirmation letter. We listed charges for many previously party fouls which have be incurred, this is not a complete list as new mishaps may happen at any time.

We do not charge milage fees, but park passes or event entrance fees will be including in the invoicing as examples.

What is your cancellation or refund policy?

Cancellations and rescheduling are common. When booking we require a non refundable retainer. In the event of cancelation this NRR will be held in escrow until used when rebooking. You do not loose your NRR.

Renting a Charter bus ,Limousine,  or Party bus service ?

Limousine Service Considerations

Not sure what to consider when looking for a limousine service? Here are some tips!

What type of budget do you have for your limo?

  • Limos are more affordable than you may think.

  • We will have special packages for prom party busses or limousines, weddings package rates, and even corporate limo rates!

  • We charge by the hour. some dates and vehicles have a 2 or 3 hour minimum and Note that Gst is added to all prices.

  • Package rates have time limits. Additional time may be arranged and is usually discounted.

  • We do not charge a mileage fee.

  • Don’t forget to order a ride home after an event.

  • Any out of town charters will be billed from the time the vehicle leaves Red Deer and again until it returns to Red Deer.

How do i Reserve a Charter bus, Limousine or Party Bus?

  • Non refundable retainers are required for all reservations.

  • Once your retainer is received the vehicle is locked in and will not be rebooked during your expected time frame.

  • Put your retainer down early. Specialty limousines book up quick.

How many limos, and what style of limo will you need?

  • Limos come in many shapes and sizes, from stretch and Hummer limos, to smaller sedans and party buses.

  • The number of people you will be transporting will decide how many rentals you will need.

  • Limousine seating capacity is different than actual seating requirements. Think of it like a 4 man tent. It only fits 3 comfortably we will be upfront on the actual fill capacity of the vehicle.

  • Make sure to get an accurate count of everyone who will be riding in the limousines. We do not allow over filling our limousines and party busses.

What is the Chauffeur's gratuity?

  • Tipping is a personal expression of gratitude for service.

  • The gratuity is normally built in to the quote unless you request otherwise.

  • It is usually anywhere from 15% to 20%.

  • Any additional monetary gratuities may be given for exceptional service.

Why is limousine charter gratuity taxed?

  • In a charter run, the “gratuity” is almost always:

  • Pre-set (e.g., 15–20%)

  • Included on the invoice or contract

  • Collected by the company, not handed directly to the driver

  • 👉 That makes it a mandatory service charge, not a voluntary tip.

  •

  • CRA classification:

  • This is considered a “controlled tip” / service charge

  • It becomes part of the price of the transportation service

  •

  • CRA explicitly treats these as part of the consideration (price) of the supply.

  • 📜 Actual CRA rule (plain language, from sources)

  • “When… a gratuity is part of a service… it is simply an increase in the consideration paid and is subject to GST/HST.”

  • “If a business adds a gratuity service charge to a bill… GST/HST must be charged on the total including the gratuity.”

Why cant we bring our own beverages into a limo, party bus or charter bus?

  • AGLC rules 3.2.14

    • Limousine and bus licensees must comply with the following conditions:

    • limousine licensees must provide AGLC with the Vehicle Identification Numbers of all licensed limousines;

    • a copy of the Class B licence must be retained in each licensed vehicle;

    • the licensee, drivers and attendants must have ProServe certification (see Section 1.6);

    • the purchase of liquor cannot be required as a condition of booking a vehicle;

    • no minors are allowed in a limousine when liquor is provided;

    • the use of a licensed vehicle for "pub crawls" (conveying passengers from bar to bar) conducted or organized by the licensee is not allowed;

    • all liquor purchased, provided or consumed in a licensed vehicle must be from the licensee;

    • self service is permitted in a limousine;

    • licensees are not permitted to advertise the availability of liquor service in limousines with seating capacities over 20;

Why is the beverage price more than the discount store?

  • Yes we mark up our beverages to cover cost but we are definitely not bar prices so be assured you are getting a savings over buying at a bar.

    • It cost us for the licence for each vehicle.

    • We have to pay for each driver permit and training.

    • We pay employees to pick up the orders.

    • We pay for the deposit and environmental fees.

    • We have to have cold storage for orders until charter time.

    • We have to cost out the vehicle sent to pick up the order.

Passenger etiquette

Many of these are simple courtesy and common sense while others may go as far as preventing potential accidents and injury.

  • The passengers must bring valuables at their own risk. Check your valuables before leaving the limousine,

  • All luggage will be loaded, and unloaded by your professional chauffeur.

  • When entering the limousine, sit in the seat, swing your legs in, and slide.

  • Be curious to other passengers; shake mud or snow off your footwear before entering the Limousine.

  • When we arrive at our destination, remain seated. It is your professional chauffeur’s duty to open the door, and assist all passengers as they exit. Our Chauffeurs will insure it is safe to exit the vehicle.

  • All our vehicles are not smoking.

  • It is illegal to hang out open windows or sunroofs.

  • It is illegal to throw anything out of the limousine.

  • Additional charges for vomit cleanup or damages may apply.

  • The pole in the party bus is actually for passenger safety not for pole dancing, as it is attached with 3 screws to tin roofs.

Here’s what you need to know about proper limo etiquette in Alberta

  • Renting a Limousine, Party Bus or Shuttle style limo is a fantastic way to elevate any special occasion, from weddings and proms to corporate events or a night out on the town.

  • Along with the luxury and convenience that comes with hiring a limo, there are also certain unspoken rules and etiquette to follow. Understanding proper limo etiquette not only ensures a smooth and enjoyable experience for you and your group, but it also shows respect for the chauffeur and the service you’re paying for.

Respect the Chauffeur

  • The chauffeur is a professional and should be treated with respect at all times. While they are there to provide excellent service, they are not personal assistants or someone to be taken advantage of. A simple “please” and “thank you” go a long way in fostering a positive environment. Additionally, remember that your chauffeur’s primary job is to get you to your destination safely and comfortably, so it’s important to avoid asking them to engage in unsafe driving practices, such as speeding.

  • If there are any specific requests you have during the ride, such as adjusting the music or temperature, ask politely. Most chauffeurs are more than willing to accommodate reasonable requests to make your experience more enjoyable. Almost all of our Limousines, and party busses the climate controls are in the back and can be adjusted accordingly.

  • It’s also a good idea to provide instructions in advance if you have a specific route or stop in mind, so your chauffeur can plan accordingly. Limousines and Party Busses are not 4-wheel drive vehicles and when loaded generally avoid gravel roads and grassy fields. If you require the charter to traverse uneven roads, expect the trip to take longer as the chauffeur will adjust the speeds accordingly.

Planning your charter

  • If you are required to be at a destination at a specific time please ask your guests to be punctual, making sure you’re ready to leave at the designated time is important. Once loaded the limousine will take as long as it does to get there, please refrain from asking the chauffeur to speed up. In Alberta, traffic weather and road conditions can be a little unpredictable.

  • At Arrow Limousine there are no milage or fuel surcharges.

  • Limousine services are often billed out on an hourly or package rates only.

  • Most limousine charter do not always go as forecasted and may exceed the quoted time normally due to the unpredictability of travel conditions, guests or event timings. Don't worry,  At Arrow limousine and party bus we offer additional time charges at the charter set hourly rate or a previously discussed discounted price.

  • If you know that your event or gathering may run late, be sure to communicate that with the Chauffeur. We will try our best to accommodate schedule changes, but it’s crucial to inform our chauffeur in advance to avoid unexpected delays.

  • Plan your trip knowing that this is a big vehicle full of joyful people having fun. We will not operate at the same speeds as your personal vehicle. We will always Travel at the safest speeds for the conditions and passengers. Think of it like this. If it's windy, limousines are like tractor trailers, a big kite. If it's winter is a really long sled. If its a gravel road it bumpy, So please don't assume we are driving safe just to charge you more, and please let the chauffeur keep you safe.

Passenger Limit

  • Each limousine has a specific passenger limit, depending on its size and model. Whether you’ve booked a limo, a stretch limousine, or a Party bus, it’s important to adhere to this capacity.

  • Overloading the vehicle not only reduces comfort but can also pose safety risks. In addition, most limousine companies in Alberta are required to follow local laws regarding vehicle capacity, and going beyond the allowed number of passengers could violate regulations, resulting in penalties and the termination of your service.

  • Before booking, make sure you know how many people will be riding in the limo and choose a vehicle that comfortably accommodates your group. This ensures a smoother ride for everyone. Please let us know if you are a good old albert dude, and we will try to get you into something with extra shoulder room.

Guest etiquette

  •  A Limousine or party bus is just like a black-tie event. Limousines are designed for luxury and relaxation, it’s essential to treat the interior with care.

  • Eating and drinking in the limo may be allowed, but it’s good practice to avoid making a mess. Spills and stains can incur cleaning fees, and any damage to the interior could result in additional charges.

  • If you’re planning to have food or drinks in the limo, be mindful of what you bring and try to keep things tidy.

  • You can bring your own non alcohol unopened bottles on to the charter vehicle. But just like a bar you can’t bring your own beverages into or out of a bar and we are required to follow the same licensing rules. Specialty items have a higher mark up but its still way cheaper than the bar prices.

  • Bodily fluids left in the limo will definitely result in additional charges starting with a bodily fluid clean up kit at $250.00 Then the disinfection costs. If Alcohol is ordered we will have Vomit bags on board. Just ask for one or ask the chauffeur to pull over.

  • Opening an emergency exit to barf is not allowed and will cost you upwards of $1500.00 as it usually ends in a broken window or lock.

  • Orange cheezies are a no go in limousines. Wedding dresses just absorb the agent orange color.

  • Before your ride ends, do a quick check to make sure you’ve taken all your belongings and left the limo in good condition.

Tipping the Chauffeur

  • Just as you would tip in a restaurant or bar, tipping your chauffeur is a customary and appreciated practice in the limo industry. In Alberta, the typical tip for a chauffeur is around 15-20% of the total fare. Unless requested arrow limousine includes gratuity in our pricing, so it’s important to check your bill beforehand. If gratuity isn’t included, it’s a good idea to tip in cash at the end of the service, especially if beverages have been ordered.

Rules and Liabilities

  • Knowing the company’s rules ahead of time ensures that there are no surprises or issues during your ride or post charter with extra billing charges. If you are paying for the charter and are not on the charter ensure someone you trust is in control of the guests and communicates directly with the chauffeur.

  • We have a set of rules and liabilities regarding behavior, food and drink, smoking, and more. Once you put a nonrefundable retainer on your charter you have agreed to be responsible for the behavior of all the guests.

  • Not every situation can be foreseen so having said that we listed the most common causes of extra charges on the charter and here on the website. So, before your trip, it’s important to familiarize yourself with these guidelines. For example, opening an emergency exit, leaving bodily fluids behind, smoking, leaving a mess, break or damage something, expect to be billed. We only charge when we require extra time to clean or repair something.

  • If you’re unsure about any policies, don’t hesitate to ask when making the booking. Being aware of the rules will allow you to enjoy your limo experience without any unnecessary complications.
